HOW TO OBTAIN PRESCRIPTIONS
We now accept repeat prescription requests 21 days before they expire
Electronic Prescriptions – We are able to issue Electronic Prescriptions (EPS) for patient’s repeat prescriptions. This requires a patient to nominate their preferred pharmacy for the electronic prescription to be sent to. This will cut down waiting times, while providing patients with greater choice on where and how they would like to receive their prescriptions. For further details, please contact the surgery reception.
Repeat dispensing from the pharmacist – If you or someone you care for use the same medicines regularly you can order them through the pharmacist who will collect. This means you won’t have to visit the surgery or make an appointment to see the doctor or nurse every time you need more medicine. Please talk to reception, your doctor, practice nurse or local pharmacist to find out more.
In writing or by fax – Repeat prescriptions should be ordered by returning the tear off slip from a previous prescription. Alternatively, please send your requirements to the surgery in writing, enclosing a self addressed envelope, or fax to 01242 263787.
Register to obtain repeat prescriptions via the Online Service – To register for this service, you will need to come to the surgery with a form of photo ID. We will give you a registration code which works on the “Order Repeat Prescription” page on this website. Once you have registered you are able to order repeat medications as well as booking some appointments online.
Plan Ahead – this is important as repeat prescriptions normally take a minimum of 48 hours after we receive the request. (Repeat prescriptions requested before noon will normally be ready for collection from 2pm two working days later).
We regret that we cannot take telephone requests for repeat prescriptions under any circumstances.
